The Jewish Open Tent
The Jewish Open Tent is dedicated to the radical proposition that men and women deserve Jewish learning without humiliation, dogma, or being forced to pretend they remember anything from Hebrew school.
The Open Tent is based on these three principles:
- Judaism is a living, evolving tradition.
- Jewish learning should be joyful.
- Curiosity is important. Understanding Hebrew isn’t.
Our engaging and accessible classes are for adult learners of
all backgrounds: regardless of affiliation, Jewish education,
facility with Hebrew, level of observance, or previous
participation in Jewish activities.

Adam’s Wives
In this session, we explore the many stories surrounding Lilith, including later imaginative
traditions in which Lilith and Eve eventually become friends.
Demons, Devils, and Dybbuks, Oh My!
we will discover what these stories reveal about fear, morality, human nature,
and the spiritual imagination of our ancestors.
Tales from the Talmud
The Talmud is far more than a collection of laws. It is also a treasury of stories — dramatic,
funny, strange, wise, and deeply human.
